Maizie Vassell is an inspirational columnist for the Good News Chronicles, and has been a Mathematics teacher for over twenty years. She pursued a Diploma in Teacher Education at the Bethlehem Moravian Teachers College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education at Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica, W.I. After leaving teachers college, she was employed at Anchovy Comprehensive High School, Jamaica, W.I. where she taught for ten years, and is presently employed as a Mathematics and English teacher at a private high school in Queens, N.Y. Maizie has served in different areas of society inspiring others to be the best they can ever be. It was this inspiration that has motivated her to be the founder of the Bullock Heights Youth Club in Jamaica, where she served as President, mentoring young people to discover their sense of purpose and to maximize their potentials. Not only has Maizie inspired others through her writings, but also through her singing in Jamaica and New York. Her love for God has been the key factor to who she is today. She is presently pursuing training in Christian Counseling at the Bethel Ministries Bible Institute, and it is her dream to pursue further studies in the field of Psychology. Maize is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Annakay and Monique.
